OUR
MISSION
Our mission is to preach and teach the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that souls might be saved from their sins. We offer innovative ministries that will support and equip people to fulfill their God given purpose and to experience a victorious life. At HCM, we want your life to continuously glorify God in the spiritual and natural realm. The focus is to connect you to “THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS”.
WE BELIEVE
We believe that the bible is the inspired, infallible word of God, written by holy men of old as they were inspired by the Spirit of God. (2 Tim 3:16)
We believe in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.
We believe in divine healing, communion, and foot washing. We believe also in the glorious catching away (the rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to heaven. (1 Cor 15:52)
We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. (Acts 2:38)
We believe that He was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Spirit in His grace that never abandon those who trust and love Him.
We believe that Jesus is the only saving name ... And whatsoever you do in word or in deed, do all in the name of Jesus. (Acts 4:12) & (Col 3:17)
We believe in a holy, sanctified life.
We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
We believe in the virgin birth. Jesus was both human and divine. He was God manifested in flesh. (2 Cor 5:19)
We believe that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell. (Col 2:9)
Elder Jerome McDonald and Sister Jacqueline McDonald were both under leadership of the honorable late Bishop Jesse Battle Sr. and First Lady Mary Battle, founders of the House of Deliverance Pentecostal Church. Bishop Battle Sr. was very instrumental in their spiritual growth and ministerial training. After the passing of Late Bishop Battle Sr. , Elder and Sister continued serving at the House of Deliverance Church under his successor, Pastor Jesse Battle Jr. Pastor and First Lady McDonald continued to receive ministerial and leadership training; Elder McDonald served as Assistant Pastor and Sister McDonald served as Youth Director.
In 2005, Elder and Sister McDonald accepted the calling to pastoral leadership and at the appoint time they prayerfully step out on faith seeking a location for a church.
On October 15, 2008, they selected Normandy Senior High School as the location for High Calling Ministries Church of the Apostolic Faith and were ready to enter into a lease agreement. God intervened, the next day Elder McDonald received a phone call from Bethesda Lutheran Church regarding an inquiry he made in July; at that time Bethesda was not open to lease for their Lucas and Hunt Location. The pastor of Bethesda requested that Elder McDonald look at their other property located at 6220 Bircher Avenue. When Elder McDonald entered into the sanctuary, he knew it was the birthplace God had chosen for High Calling Ministries Church.
Our first service was held Sunday, November 16, 2008.

In May 2016, High Calling Ministries acquired the building located at 3800 Pershall Rd.
We believe that He ascended on high and sent His spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 2000 years ago, and it is the same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today.
